How It Started
The podcast was started in January of 2021, after some brainstorming on a New Year's trip to the Oregon Coast. I was looking for a creative outlet after too many days of virtual school with my children, and covid lockdown in general. I was interested in starting a true crime podcast, and the long drive from Central Washington to Seaside, Oregon inspired me to focus on the Pacific Northwest.
How It's Going
To say I was shocked by the response to the podcast, was an understatement! I am blown away by the audience of caring and smart listeners who follow Upper Left Corner. The pod's demographic is over 80% female, many of whom are mothers like myself, and there is also a strong following of Law Enforcement spouses.
About Me
Hey, I'm Emili! I'm the creator of Upper Left Corner. I was born and raised in the PNW by my dad who was a WSP trooper, and my amazing Mom. In 2008, I married my high school sweetheart at the Museum of Flight in Seattle and we settled into the town where we grew up in Central Washington. We are currently busy raising our three kids (two boys + a girl), and also have a half pyrenees/yellow lab named May, and a golden axolotl named Taco. My favorite things outside of true crime involve family, friends, coffee and wine.
